Additional policies for Graduate Student at Large Students (GSAL)

  • If a GSAL student applies and gains admittance to the MS in Applied Data Science program, up to two courses may be transferred.
    • ADSP 31007: Statistical Analysis – core
    • One ADSP Elective (e.g., ADSP 32007: Data Visualization Techniques, ADSP 32015: Digital Marketing Analytics in Theory and Practice, etc.)
  • Please note that all course transfers are at the discretion of the program. Because the MS in Applied Data Science program requirements are subject to change, not all courses taken as a GSAL student may be eligible for course transfer.
  • To maintain F-1 and J-1 status, federal immigration regulations require that students be enrolled full- time for all quarters listed on the I-20/DS-2020, except for the vacation quarter (usually summer). For GSAL students, ‘full time’ means three classes (300 units) each quarter.
  • Other questions regarding the GSAL program should be directed to Esther Pandian-Riske.
